What’s causing my back or neck pain?
Stress, poor posture, heavy lifting, trapped nerves, repetitive loads or weakness in certain muscles can all be causes for you to be feeling pain and discomfort.
If you are unaware as to why you are experiencing pain in your neck or back you are not alone. Fifty per cent of people don’t know the underlying cause of their pain. In these incidences this could be the result of repetitive physical forces that accumulate over a prolonged period.
Why Backfocus Physiotherapy treatment works
Our physiotherapists are experienced at recognising what is causing the problem. Is there inflammation, is it due to repeated overstrain, is it due to muscle weakness? Once we find the cause this will guide your treatment plan.
Whether you are experiencing ongoing headaches, lower back pain or excruciating neck pain we incorporate a variety of treatment techniques to identify the stiff and tender segments of your spinal / neck joints and muscles. We will stretch it, loosen it, needle it and soften it, whatever is needed to safely get you moving again.
What you should avoid
Addressing your lifestyle choices such as sitting posture, ergonomics or reducing workload is the first step to improving your condition.
Acting early on your pain will also help you to get you back to your best, that way we can inform and treat your condition early. If you are in severe pain, we can provide solutions to ease the pain, both short-term and long-term, whether that be taping, massaging or providing a long-term program that will reduce symptom progression.
How long before I am back to normal
Generally, depending on the severity of your condition your treatment process can range from a few sessions over 1-2 weeks or a guided return to exercise, activity and life over three months.
You don’t have to suffer through your pain. The supervised guided programs are shown to restore function and reduce pain. Let us help you relieve the pain and improve the function in your back or neck.
